Training Program 2022/23


Track Training

Track training is organised on Tuesday evenings 7.00pm at the A.I.T Track Athlone Kids Welcome!

Cross Country (parkrun)

Cross Running takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am in the A.I.T. Athlone This session is free of charge and open to all members. The group is split into different levels so everybody is running in a group with people of the same ability and speed. Please see


Turbo @ Zoom

During the winter months (Nov-April) every Thursday from 7.00pm we have a zoom-class for turbo training.  Please contact us to  get involved

Group Cycles

Currently we have 2 group cycles:
  1. Experienced riders leaving from B&Q Athlone each Sunday usually around 9.30am. 80k +
  2. Novice/beginner group. Meet on a Sunday morning 9am. 30k - 40k approx. at a easy steady pace
 (details for both groups arranged via the WhatsApp group for members)

Time Trials

In spring/summer ATC members compete in a time trial league.

Pools Sessions

Monday 9.00-10.00pm coached swim session at coral leisure Ballinasloe. Focus over winter period will be on technique and improving swim efficiency. Location: Ballinasloe Leisure Club. Sarsfield Rd, Cleaghmore, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway

Open Water Sessions

During the summer months there are open water sessions at Coosan Point. Start date to be confirmed, every Friday 6pm-7pm.
